Increasing frequency or prolongation of angina episodes, lower exercise thresholds, a need for increased nitroglycerin dosing, and longer recovery times are all signals for the clinician to investigate further. Is your patient’s stable angina progressing to an acute coronary syndrome, or does this pain have a noncardiac etiology?
