A
50-year-old man presents after sustaining a gunshot wound to the left arm.
Upon his arrival, the patient is awake and alert, complaining of left arm pain
and some mild lower extremity weakness and numbness, predominantly on his left
side.
The
patient’s vital signs are stable, and his medical history is unremarkable.
Examination demonstrates an entrance wound on the posterior left arm just
below the deltoid. No exit wound is noted. Lower extremity examination reveals
diffuse weakness with almost a hyperesthetic sensation in both lower
extremities. Chest radiograph is shown.
